A General Summing-up

Well, most of you probably saw Kaph's announcement that I was leaving my supervisor/events coordinator postition at the bookstore. And given that the management left a lot to be desired -- besides just expecting me to do both jobs at once, constantly promising to hire a 2nd person to do events but never delivering -- I'm glad to be out of there. Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed helping people find their books, had (mostly) good people to work with day-to-day, and I got to meet two Nobel Prize winners, an NPR broadcaster, and a surprisingly personable reality show winner. =)
This, however, is my first day at my new job, full time. I was an easy hire, I think, because both of my predecessors left almost at once, and my superior is only here through July -- leaving me as the only person who knows how the e-reserves library works, for instance. In the meantime, I'm enjoying getting to sit down most of the day, not having to manage multiple phone calls at once, having a whole hour for lunch. In other words, an ordinary, non-manic job. And best of all, as I won't have to work long or late (eg, 12 hour days that go to 10 pm), I can have a personal life again. And that means not just posting on lj, but having things to post on lj about.
Brilliant.
